If you or your class feel motivated to do more to help the children on the streets then we would love you to fundraise for us!
It doesn’t take long to fundraise – activities such as cake sales, sponsored silences and bring and buy sales will fit in to your lunch hour but make a big difference to the work that S.A.L.V.E. can do in Uganda.
Fundraising can be a great chance to build pupil’s confidence and help them gain life skills. You can also link fundraising to your curriculum activities. How about hosting a quiz with bonus rounds in Modern Foreign Languages to improve listening and understanding skills, or organising a talent show to develop performance skills for music, drama and dance? Moreover, it can be a great way of developing global citizenship in showing children that they can be the change they want to see in the world.
Download our free ‘Schools’ fundraising pack’ for great tips, inspiration, guidance and advice on how to fundraise for us – and remember, our team are always here to help if you have any questions or to discuss your fundraising plans.
Another great way to get involved with S.A.L.V.E.’s work is to hold a S.A.L.V.E. shop at your school selling the beautiful handcrafted products made by our women’s co-operatives. To find out all about how to become a S.A.L.V.E selling star download:Sponsor a child through your school. Make a personal link with a child in Uganda by sponsoring a child through your school. Your school will get to see first-hand how it is helping a street child reclaim their childhood and their future.
‘Child sponsorship is a fantastic tool for both learning and developing empathy in children. Bringing awareness of other countries and ways of life and it also encourages children to believe that they can help make a difference. Children can learn about history, geography, politics – it can be tied into most things and really brings learning to life’ Zainab Al-Mulla, a teacher at Preston Grove primary school
